We’ve had challenging times on staying employed long-term. Most employers lay off employees or worst, lose the business itself. Now that’s worst case scenario, but point is, one can increase his chance of keeping the job by doing things that adds value on your performance. We all know for a fact that companies keep employees that are always on their best feet and contribute more for the business. Here are some tips on how simple steps done in the office and keep you employed for a long-time.

    Show up on time: Be several minutes early and leave when you are expected to-if need be, remain shortly afterwards to see to it that something is finished or that information is conveyed to finish a task.

    Dress for success, most work places have dress codes, follow them. Wear what is functional, sensible for the weather conditions if there is a loose dress code that makes such allowances for the weather, such as outdoor work.

    Proper hygiene-bathe regularly, keep hair and nails trimmed accordingly. Use deodorant to cover the scent of one's underarms. Keep clothes clean. Work in the hot sun can often result in a profusion of sweat, one can only do so much to remain unoffensive in such conditions, but still one must try.

    Be mindful of what you say and do. Your actions reflect upon the company you work for. Foul language, offensive actions/gestures can deter customers from returning.

    Live up to regulations-some companies have policies for randomized drug testing, accepting this, do not do drugs that could get you fired, either using or trafficking in these could of course amongst other things get you fired.
