1If you can locate the ants' nest, destroy it and kill the queen. She will be in the bottom of the nest. Killing the queen will kill the entire nest.

2Thoroughly clean the house and don't leave food sitting out. Without a free meal, ants have no reason to stick around.

3Don't let individual ants make their way back to the nest. They may be scouting for food and reporting back to the others.

4Seal your windows, doors, and any cracks you can find with caulk to prevent ants from getting inside.

5Purchase ant repellants and follow the package instructions. Beware of exposure to children and pets, however.

6A recipe for homemade ant repellant is easily made by putting a teaspoon of rubbing alcohol, a teaspoon & a half of dish soap in a spray bottle, and fill the rest with water.

Get rid of the rotten or spoiled food you've left behind. It is the buffet the ants are feeding on and the reason they are in your sight.
Sprinkle black peper. Believe it or not, but it is quite effective on ants.

Cool. I'll try the pepper one. This is definitely helpful especially during the before monsoon months.
