With a little practice, you can easily get the hang of making round braids for your hair. This time-tested hairstyle is perfect for any day at the office or having dinner with your friends. It looks a bit complicated, but making a round braid is actually easier than you think. You can do it with four strands or more. You can also get a friend to do it for you. Here is how you can create a sleek round braid.

How To / Instruction

Difficulty: Normal
  • Step

    1

Comb the hair and make sure you remove all the knots.

  • Step

    2

Divide the length of hair into four sections.

  • Step

    3

Weave the section farthest on the right under the two middle sections and over the last section.

  • Step

    4

Repeat the weave starting on the reverse side of the braid for each turn.

Tips and Warnings

  • Pull the strands after each turn. You want to make a tight braid to keep it secure. You can use ponytail holders to keep sections separate.

  • Continue weaving the hair until you reach the ends. The round shape will form after about 5 or 6 weaves and should continue the rest of the way.

  • Secure the ends with elastic bands or clips. Make sure it is held tightly or it will unravel. If you have thin hair, you can use hairspray to keep the braid in place.
