Step
1First let the paint dry completely. The amount of time needed for the paint to dry depends on the humidity, temperature and the number of coats applied. You may want to leave your car for atlest 24 hours or more.

2Prepare your wet sanding materials. A 1000 and 1500 grit sand paper, a flexible sanding block, a pail with water with a drip of dish washing liquid, a sprayer, a soft cloth and a fine rubbing compound

3Spray the surface with water, starting with a small area. Start sanding the surface using 1000 grit wrapped around a flexible sanding block. Continue to sand the surface making sure that the surface is wet. Start gradually until you covered the whole area. Wipe the area with a soft cloth as needed.

4Repeat step three, this time using a 1500 grit or a 2000 grit. This will make the surface finer and smoother. Continue sanding until you achieved that smooth flat surface that you wanted.

5At this moment the paint would appear dull. Now, you should apply a fine rubbing compound to restore the paint's glossiness. Work until the surface is all smooth and shines back.

6Then you are now ready to apply clear coat. Make sure to follow the manufacturer's directions.
Tips and Warnings
Do not sand without the sanding block. Sanding block helps you have that even surface.
Go light on the surface unless there are bumps that you have to get rid of.
Go easy on sanding the edges. Paint may go off easily.
