You need to make Google happy. It is really that simple. Yes, there are other search engines, but Google owns search…so while you should not neglect other search engines, you should concentrate 90% of your efforts on Google. By March of 2021, Google was indexing 70% of websites as mobile-first.

Make sure your website supports HTML5 since it works on all modern mobile devices.

Give Google Bot Free Reign

This means making sure that Google bot can access your content and render it. You must be certain that:

  • Both your mobile and desktop versions of the site are showing the same meta tags. This should be the default setting but it can’t hurt to make sure.
  • Make sure that Lazy Load content is made visible to Google.
  • Check your URLs to make sure that none are being blocked by disavow.

Google Search Console is a wonderful tool and it is free. If you have not set up your website with Google Search Console yet, make that a priority. Google Search Console will send you notifications if they ever detect Mobile errors on your site. Address those quickly.
