There are four types of tissues in the body. Epithelial tissue, connective tissue, muscle tissue, and nerve tissue. Muscle tissue also has three different types of tissue. Those are skeletal, smooth, and cardiac. Epithelial tissue mainly protects, absorbs, and filters. It does this by protecting from any impurities and harmful substances that might enter the body. Connective tissue's main purpose is also protection. It is widely spread throughout the body, and there are many different types of tissues that can be classified as connective tissue, such as fat tissue, cartilage, bones and blood. The three different types of muscle tissue are used in different parts of the body. Skeletal is used in contracting skeletal parts, smooth is located on the perimeter of internal organs, and cardiac is in the heart. Lastly, nerve tissue is mainly cells which impulse to and from most of the body.
