Spool chairs are furniture made with constituents shaped on a lathe. It is created with simple designs and minimal decorations. The legs, armrest and back of the chair are all usually turned on the lathe. The space between the armrest and seat is free from spindles, making the chair body easy to clean.
Natural materials are used to construct the seat. Simple cushions provide comfort and design that is easy to incorporate in any decorating style. Also called the Carver chair, the spool chair is believed to have originated in the New England area of the United States.
