What is a Jeweler's Loupe?

A Jeweler's Loupe is a magnifying glass that jewelers use to closely inspect gemstones and other objects. Loupes will have lenses made either from plastic or glass, with glass being the better option of the two. They come with a variety of lenses as well. Many jewelers will use a loupe with three lenses. Jeweler's Loupe is used to detect any defects in the gemstones, to determine what a gemstone is worth and whether it is real or fake.
