What is Needle Felting?

Needle Felting is a process which uses specific barbed needles, to felt wool without use of water. One needs colors of either medium fine or carded fine wool along with the specialized barbed felting needles to get started in needle felting. A foamy felting surface is also a handy tool while needle felting. Once you have the needed supplies, then a pattern is needed to begin. Your' design can be drawn or even printed as a guide while decorating. Use pins to stencil the design, remove paper design guide. Then using wool slightly larger than the pattern, you'll stab through wool, fabric, and the foamy felting surface. Fold extra wool into the pattern as you go and tuck in fabric onto itself. This has been said to be a good craft for starter crafters and can be easily learned since there is no memorized stiches. This really sounds like a fun hobby to pick up!
