What Is a Wired Headset?

Touch Stereo Wired Headset

A wired headset is a pair of headphones that has a wire connecting the earpiece to the device that produces sound such as a cell phone or cd player that has a headphone input.

Most people use wired headset for safety and convenience. Since wired headset transmits voice signals with the use of the device, a user can keep the device away from his ears so as to avoid wave radiation that can damage the brain cells. Wired headsets can also be used while doing other works, since you can just keep your device inside your pocket and use the headset instead.

Wired headset was first introduced to the public in February 1897. In 1969, Platonic headsets were used to transmit messages from moon to earth when Apollo 11 landed on the moon.
